1. General Atelier Policies

By commissioning Folio & Fold for any service or purchasing our goods, you agree to these foundational terms. Our atelier operates strictly within the disciplines of traditional bookbinding and paper conservation. All timelines provided are estimates, as heritage craft relies on careful, methodical processes rather than automated production.

2. Bespoke Binding Commissions

Custom journals and bespoke binding projects require a collaborative design phase. We source premium materials, including specialized threads and marbled papers, based on your specifications.

• A partial deposit is required before the sourcing of bespoke materials begins.
• Material colors and textures may vary slightly from digital proofs due to the nature of handmade supplies.
• Cancellations after material cutting has commenced will forfeit the initial deposit.

3. Paper & Book Restoration

Restoration requires delicate handling and assessment. When you submit a volume for conservation, we provide a condition report and a proposed treatment plan. While we use archival-grade techniques to stabilize and repair historical texts, we cannot guarantee the complete reversal of severe water or environmental damage. Clients will be informed of any inherent risks before physical intervention begins.

4. Workshop Registrations

Our educational sessions focus on teaching traditional binding structures and material preparation. Workshop seats are limited to ensure personalized instruction. If you need to withdraw from a scheduled class, we request notice at least two weeks in advance to allow another aspiring craftsperson to take your place. Late cancellations may be ineligible for a full refund.
